I also appreciate a camera with excellent video capabilities, which the a6300 did not have, but the a6500 does have due to a new, more durable shutter.Īnother additional feature the a6500 is the ability to select autofocus points by just touching the screen. ![]() Plus, one of the best new features is that the a6500 has instant image review of the last image written to the memory card, so you can check the focus on your image while the camera is writing to the memory card. The a6300 only shoots 44 JPEGs or 21 RAW files at this speed, which is nothing compared to the a6500's impressive 300 JPEGs or 100 RAWs. They feature the same sensor and the same viewfinder, but the a6500 is a definite upgrade thanks in part to its 11fps shooting. With an excellent autofocus system, superb ergonomics, and excellent video performance, there's a lot to love about this little camera.īut is it the camera for you? Find out in our Sony a6500 review. ![]() My recommendation is that if you like SONY, buy the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DN, it's also rated as the SHARPEST PRIME in E-mount according to Dxo.The Sony a6500 is a highly capable, fairly-priced APS-C camera with a host of features you'd expect from a more expensive model. The closest review I can find is actually a Panasonic 25mm f/1.4 vs Fuji 35mm f/1.4: I think you can use this test as a reference, keep in mind that Fuji XF is much sharper than Sony 35/1.8. I do prefer the bigger the big bokeh ball I can get from bigger APS-C sensor. I don't notice the DOF difference as much, but I can tell that side-by-side photo, the smaller M43 sensor produce smaller Bokeh Ball ( Bokeh Highlight is smaller on smaller sensor). I'll be frank, Sony 35/1.8 didn't perform as good the Sony 50/1.8 OSS, which has decent sharpness good contrast, and doesn't CA easily.
